Governance
Tellus is structured as a public company limited by guarantee, working toward registration as a charity and Public Benevolent Institution. Strong, independent governance is central to how we earn and keep the trust of the communities, partners and funders we work with.
Structure
Tellus Development Foundation Ltd is registered in Western Australia as an Australian public company limited by guarantee, and is working toward registration with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) as a Public Benevolent Institution with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.
Tellus operates independently of its founding supporter, ServeGate Australia, with its own board and its own strategic direction — while drawing on ServeGate's early establishment support and technical assistance.
Our Commitment
Our Board
Tellus is guided by a board bringing together deep experience in community development, enterprise and finance.
Director
Brings decades of international experience in microenterprise development and community-led economic empowerment.
Director & Company Secretary
Leads the establishment and day-to-day direction of Tellus, working closely with the board and founding partners.
Director
Contributes governance and operational experience from ServeGate Australia and the broader partner network.
Tellus is committed to expanding the board over time to include dedicated community representation and independent directors, consistent with best-practice governance for organisations of this kind.
Accountability
Where directors or arrangements span both Tellus and ServeGate Australia, we manage this through formal disclosure, documented decision-making, and arm's-length terms for any transaction between the two organisations — consistent with ACNC Governance Standards and the Corporations Act.
